Application of diversified teaching modes in clinical teaching of general surgery department in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals
Objective To study the application value of diversified teaching modes in clinical teaching of general surgery in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals,and to provide reference plans for the teaching of Western medicine for medical students in traditional Chinese medicine schools.Methods A total of 77 medical students majoring in traditional Chinese medicine who underwent clinical internships at the General Surgery Department of First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine from October 2020 to October 2022 were selected as the research subjects.The students were divided into control group with 43 cases and observation group with 34 cases based on their admission time.The control group adopted the traditional teaching modes of Western medicine and surgery,the observation group adopted the diversified teaching modes that integrated multiple teaching modes and fully introduced traditional Chinese medicine elements.The theoretical assessment scores,clinical operation and clinical thinking abilities,the satisfaction rates with teaching mode and teacher teaching of two groups of medical students were recorded and compared.Results The theoretical assessment scores in case analysis,medical history collection,imaging examination,laboratory analysis and medical record writing were higher in the observation group than thoses in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of clinical operation and clinical thinking ability assessment of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total satisfaction rate of medical students in the observation group with the teaching mode and teachers was 100.00%,which was higher than 76.74%in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(x2=9.087,P<0.05).Conclusion The application of diversified teaching modes that integrated multiple teaching modes in clinical teaching of general surgery department in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals could improve teaching quality,promote the establishment of clinical thinking of integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine among students,and improve students'satisfaction rate.It was worth promoting and applying in clinical teaching of general surgery in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals.
