Effect of laparoscopy surgery for severe appendicitis in children
Objective To explore the effectiveness of laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of severe appendicitis in children, and to provide a safer and more effective method for the treatment of appendicitis in children. Methods A total of 80 children with severe appendicitis admitted to Tengzhou Central People's Hospital from January 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into an observation group and a control group based on different surgical methods, with 40 cases in each group. The control group underwent open appendectomy, while the observation group underwent laparoscopic appendectomy. The surgical indicators, incidence of complications and the postoperative CRP level between two groups of pediatric patients were compared. Results The surgical time, intestinal function recovery time and hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the incision length was smaller than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was 5.00%,which was lower than that in the control group with 20.00%,and the difference was statistically significant(x2=4.114,P<0.05).The CRP level in the observation group was(51.14±5.68)mg/L,which was lower than that in the control group with(62.17±6.39)mg/L,and the difference was statistically significant(t=8.159,P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of pediatric severe appendicitis, compared to conventional open surgery, laparoscopic surgery had less trauma, could reduce the risk of complications, reduce inflammatory reactions, promote early postoperative recovery, and make up for the shortcomings of traditional surgery. Therefore, when treating pediatric severe appendicitis in clinical practice, laparoscopic surgery should be given priority.
