Application of video combined with action oriented approach in ureteral stent nursing
Objective To investigate the application effect of video feedback combined with action oriented teaching in self-care of urinary calculi with indwelling ureteral stenting. Methods Eighty-six patients with urinary calculus admitted to the Department of Urology of Tianjin Medical University Second Hospital from January 2020 to June 2023 were enrolled in the study. All patients received indwelling ureteral stent during laser lithotripsy and were divided into control group and observation group with 43 cases in each group according to random number table method. The patients in the control group adopted conventional nursing intervention, and the patients in the observation group was given video feedback combined with action-oriented teaching nursing mode on the base of conventional nursing. The self-management ability before and after nursing intervention, incidence of complications and nursing satisfaction rate were compared between two groups. Results Before intervention, there were no significant differences in each AHSMSRS scale scores and total scores between the two groups(P>0.05);after intervention, the scores and total scores of AHSMSRS scale in the two groups were higher than before intervention, and the observation group were higher than the control group, and the differences were statistically singnificant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was 25.58%,which was lower than 48.83%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total satisfaction rate of nursing in observation group was 93.02%,which was higher than 76.74%in control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of video feedback combined with action oriented teaching in urinary calculi patients with indwelling ureteral stenting could improve the self-management ability and nursing satisfaction rate, and reduce the occurrence of the complications, which was worthy of clinical promotion and application.
