The study of psychological nursing interventions in elderly tumor patients undergoing intensity modulated radiation therapy
Objective To explore the intervention effect of psychological nursing on the psychological status of elderly tumor patients receiving intensity modulated radiation therapy(IMRT),and to provide reference for improving patients'anxiety and other psychological conditions.Methods A total of 78 elderly tumor patients who received IMRT treatment in Tengzhou Central People's Hospital affiliated to Jining Medical College from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into intervention group and control group,with 39 cases in each group.The control group received routine nursing,while the intervention group received psychological nursing with personalized health education.The scores of anxiety before and after intervention,the excellent rate of personalized nursing and the overall satisfaction rate of nursing services of patients between the two groups were evaluated.Results Before the intervention,there was no statistically significant difference in anxiety scores of patients between the two groups(P>0.05);after intervention,the anxiety score of patients in the intervention group was(29.32±3.56)points,which was lower than that in the control group with(41.76±5.13)points,and the difference was statistically significant(t=12.440,P<0.05).The excellent rate of personalized nursing in the intervention group was 94.87%,which was higher than that in the control group with 79.49%,and the difference was statistically significant(x2=5.872,P<0.05).The total satisfaction rate of nursing services in the intervention group was 92.31%,which was higher than that in the control group with 69.23%,and the difference was statistically significant(x2=3.428,P<0.05).Conclusion Elderly tumor patients receiving IMRT treatment had a higher probability of experiencing anxiety.Good psychological nursing intervention could improve the patient's anxiety state,thereby improving treatment compliance,improving treatment effectiveness,and increasing patient's satisfaction rate.It was worthy of clinical promotion and application.
