The role of humanistic care nursing in reducing dental phobia of patients
Objective To analyze the role of humanistic care nursing in reducing fear in dental patients and provide reference for improving their medical experience.Methods A total of 58 patients with dental phobia admitted to Tianjin Public Security Hospital from November 2020 to June 2023 were selected as the study subjects.They were divided into a control group and an observation group,with 29 cases in each group,using a random number table method.The control group received routine dental nursing,while the observation group received humanistic care nursing,including improvement of the medical environment,introduction of hospital environment and treatment process,standardized gesture teaching,full attention to the treatment process and targeted health education.The Dental Anxiety Inventory(DAI),Dental Anxiety Scale(DAS),State Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI),and Newcastle Nursing Satisfaction Scale(NSNS)were used to evaluate the anxiety,fear and nursing satisfaction rate of two groups of patients.Results After nursing intervention,the DAI,DAS and STAI scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The overall satisfaction rate of nursing in the observation group was 93.10%,which was higher than the control group's 68.97%,and the difference was statistically significant(x2=4.371,P<0.05).Conclusion Humanistic care nursing for patients with dental fear could reduce their anxiety and fear during dental treatment,and establish a good nurse patient relationship,which was worthy of clinical promotion and application.
