Lengthiness in county-level local records will affect the authoritativeness and professionalism of local records.Causes of lengthiness in county-level local records mainly include misunderstandings of local records,illogical setup of local records chapters and sections,and improper selection and processing of reference materials.Starting from four aspects that include drawing lessons from old local records,chapters and sections setup,processing of reference materials,and making up standards to realize the combination of highlighting important points and controlling the length,is an important path for transformational and high-quality development of county-level local records,which could also provide references for the third-round local records compilation soon to be started.
