On Annam History Writings in Wanli Guangxi General Records
As an exception to Ming Dynasty Guangxi general records authorship,Wanli Guangxi General Records'Annam Records,in terms of writing objective and interest,demonstrated strong realistic concerns,and illustrated the activeness and positivity on part of the local government in maintaining national stability and border security.In terms of forms of writings,Annam Records presented a mode of history writing.It presented Annam history along the main thread of sequential Chinese dynasties,which not only reflected the Annam cognition of Guangxi local government,but also projected the special nature of local records'history writing.In terms of historical reference value,Annam Records is an important case for the survey of Ming and Qing Dynasty local records'writings on history,and also offers precious references for research of Ming Dynasty's foreign policies.
