On Examples of Identification Paths of Ancient Local References
Arts and literature records(or canons of Confucianism classics records,or catalogues)in local records are a kind of comprehensive collection of local literature.Yet due to inadequate understandings of local records compilers on the connotations of ancient and contemporary place names and changes,as well as their inappropriate considerations of names and born places of authors,besides there are problems like lack of references,relay of erroneous information,or careless records,entries in arts and literature records on authors'names,born places,and book titles of references over the generations are either wrongly included or abusively included,or vaguely included,gravely hindering the utilization of local references.Therefore,it could be said that identification of local references is one of the crucial links in local records compilation and understanding,as well as sorting of local references.This article discusses the identification paths of ancient local references from the differences and similarities of four aspects that include place names,authors'born places,persons'names,and book titles.
