An Empirical Study of Undergraduate Career Course Effectiveness——An Empirical Study Based on Student Self-assessment
Based on career decision self-efficacy and planned happenstance theory, the current empirical study uses a pre-and post-paired comparison design to examine the career course effectiveness with a focus on students'mindset towards a versatile career outlook. We find that college career courses significantly improve students'self-efficacy in coping strategies during career decision-making.Other increased psychological constructs of students include curiosity, flexibility, optimism, persistence, and risk-taking.A decrease in decisional self-efficacy indicates an adjusted self-assessment after taking the career course.
