The Curse of Ecosystem Services for Green Innovation——Empirical Evidence from Chinese Cities
This evaluates the value of ecosystem services in China study with remote sensing data,inves-tigates the potential resource curse effect of ecosystem services on urban green innovation with green pa-tent data from 142 cities with high ecosystem service values from 2003 to 2019 by drawing upon the re-source curse hypothesis. The main findings include:(1)ecosystem services present a resource curse effect on urban green innovation;(2)further pathway analysis reveals that squeezing out R&D investment, inhibiting the advancement of industrial structure, and promoting the weakening of institutional frame-works are key mechanisms through which the value of ecosystem services exerts a resource curse effect on green innovation.
