A Brief Analysis of Strategies for NGOs'Action on Marine Plastic Pollution
Non-governmental organizations(NGOs)often choose a dominant action strategy to participate in governance of marine plastic pollution.Based on the analysis of the action strategies of ocean-related NGOs from the"structure-organization"dimension,according to their primary resource dependence objects and their knowledge types,the action strategies of ocean-related NGOs can be classified into the following four categories:political advocacy,public preaching,pilot incubation,deep cultivation of action.The article selects international representative NGOs as the analysis objects of the four strategies,elaborates in detail how the four strategies and the integration of different strategies are used in the process of ocean-related NGOs participating in global governance of marine plastic pollution,and then analyses and summarizes the logic of NGOs'strategic choices and their action experience,to provide a reference for Chinese NGOs to participate in global governance of marine plastic pollution.
