Path Selection for the Governance of International Commons on the Earth's Surface——A Case Study of Antarctica
The governance of the international commons on the earth's surface is related to global sustainable development, and is also the strategic commanding heights of the national interest game and resource competition. As a strategic place, the governance of Antarctica faces complex challenges.Taking Antarctica as an example, this paper sorts out the basic logic and world pattern of international commons governance on the earth's surface,as well as the historical evolution and governance model characteristics of international commons governance on the earth's surface. It points out that China has some practical difficulties in the governance of international commons on the earth's surface, such as the ability to participate needs to be improved, the lack of diversified management, and the contradiction between polar exploration and development and environmental protection.Based on the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, efforts should be made to jointly build and share a universally safe Antarctica, actively accept potential governance subjects, and strengthen the protection of the Antarctic region,so as to enhance China's influence and discourse power in the governance of the international commons on the earth's surface.
