The expression of Siglec-15 in epithelial ovarian cancer and its relationship with prognosis
Objective To investigate the expression of sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin 15(Siglec-15)in epithelial ovarian cancer and its relationship with prognosis. Methods The expression level of Siglec-15 in 123 cases(67.21%)of epithelial ovarian cancer and 60 cases(32.79%)of normal ovarian tissue were detected by immunohistochemistry(SABC).The expression was expressed by mean optical density, and the correlation between SIGLEC-15 and survival was analyzed by Kaplan-Meier.Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between Siglec-15 and programmed cell death 1 ligand 1(PD-L1)expression and the relationship between Siglec-15 expression and clinicopathological features of ovarian cancer. Results The expression level of Siglec-15 in epithelial ovarian cancer tissues(55.28%,68/123)was significantly higher than that in normal ovary(6.67%,4/60)(x2=39.943,P=0.000).The high expression of Siglec-15 was correlated with tissue type and lymph node metastasis(x2=3.373,P=0.066;x2=3.172,P=0.075).Siglec-15 was not associated with age,2014 FIGO stage or tumor size(all P>0.05).There was no significant correlation between Siglec-15 and overall survival and progression free survival of epithelial ovarian cancer patients(all P>0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that there was no correlation between the expression levels of Siglec-15 and PD-L1(r=0.038,P=0.682).Conclusions The expression level of Siglec-15 is significantly increased in epithelial ovarian cancer, which may be a new therapeutic target.
