Determination of Components in Talcum Powder by X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry
A quantitative analysis method for the determination of SiO2,MgO,Fe2O3,Al2O3 and CaO in talcum powder by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry with boric acid powder tablet was introduced.According to the content range of primary and secondary components in talc, the calibration curve is drawn by using the commercially available talc standard sample and the production product which has been determined by chemical analysis method as the standard sample.Eliminate the influence of absorption and enhancement effect by empirical coefficient matrix correction method.Boric acid is used as the mixing agent, and the mass ratio of talcum powder(200~400mesh)to boric acid is 5:1,which is fully mixed by vibration grinding, and then the sample with smooth surface is pressed by a press machine. The precision test and comparison test show that the error between the standard sample and the standard value determined by this analysis method is completely within the allowable error range of the national standard. The content of components in talcum powder is determined, and the detection value is consistent with the detection value by chemical method, which realizes simple, rapid and accurate determination.
