Geological Characteristics and Controlling Factors of Bentonite Deposits in Yusi Basin of Western Liaoning
The Yusi Basin is a small volcanic rock tectonic basin of the Mesozoic era,its axis is NWW-SEE.The bentonite resources in the basin are relatively abundant, there are many kinds of bentonite deposits and districts, mainly distributed on the borth north and south flanks of the basin. On a whole, there are some evident characteristics for the content of montmorillonite is"high in the north flank and low in the south flank",and the mineral properties is"shallow calcium based and deep sodium based".The type of deposit is a Alteration and transformation bentonite deposit that the volcanic clastic rock-volcanic lava is altered.Structural style, stratigraphic lithology, hydrochemical conditions, and alteration are the main controlling factors of bentonite deposits.
