This paper selects patents data in strategic emerging industries and articles data in corresponding discipline fields of Chinese universities,and analyzes the status of patent technological innovation in universities from the perspective of connection between science and technology by the method of combining patentometrics and bibliometrics.On this basis,the categories of patents in strategic emerging industries are corresponding to the articles'categories.The relationship between patent technology innovation and discipline distribution in universities was explored.The study found that the number of invention patents in the field of strategic emerging industries in Chinese universities is on the rise as a whole.The new generation of information technology industry,new material industry and biological industry are important technical directions.Zhejiang University and Tsinghua University have more patents in many emerging industries,the ranking of patent output is also consistent with the ranking of discipline evaluation,which proves that there are certain relationships between the disciplines and patents in universities.
