Study on Technological Development Trends of Global Cereal By-Product Processing Industry from Patent Perspective and Development Strategies in China
To provide guidance for the processing of cereal by-product in China within the context of great foods.Based on the incoPat patent database,relevant patents worldwide over the past 30 years were analyzed.Using patentometrics research methods,the overall trend,technical field and operational layout of global cereal by-product processing patents were analyzed from macro,meso and micro levels.Compared with developed countries,cereal by-product processing in China are currently experiencing rapid growth,innovation advantages accumulate mainly in processing technologies.The technological reserves mainly exist at university research stages while there is a relatively low number of high-value patents along with a lower rate of patent conversion,which indicates that the ability to drive industrial development through technological innovation in China is still insufficient.Grinding technology and cereal dietary fiber are the key areas for industry development.In China,the industry-academia-research cooperation between universities and companies should be actively promoted,so as to vigorously cultivate high-value patents in areas of grinding and crushing technology,the products of cereal dietary fiber and cereal oil.This will facilitate the transformation and implementation of scientific and technological achievements,promoting the high-quality development of the value-added processing industry for cereal by-products.
