Comparative Analysis and Development Forecast of Patents in the Quantum Computing Field Between China and the United States
This paper aims to analyze the patent development trends in the field of quantum computing between China and the United States, and to predict and assess technological innovation capabilities using a grey prediction model, providing insights for the optimization of technology resource allocation. The research focuses on the patent application trends, technological layout, and quality assessment in the field of quantum computing from 2017 to 2023,revealing the competitive landscape between China and the United States through quantitative analysis. The results indicate that China may surpass the United States in the number of patent applications by 2026,but there remains a significant gap in the number and quality of granted patents. The study finds that Chinese patent application volume is growing rapidly, demonstrating strong development potential, yet the overall patent quality still needs improvement, particularly in terms of corporate innovation capabilities. Based on the research findings,it is recommended that China increase efforts in financial support, talent cultivation, and strengthening industry-university-research cooperation to further promote the development of quantum computing industry.
