A method to fabricate surface-enhanced Raman scattering substrate by AgCl nanocubes under laser irradiation
Surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)substrate was fabricated by AgCl nanocubes(NCs)under laser irradiation, which resulted in the appearance of Ag nanoparticles(NPs)on the surface.AgCl NCs were synthesized by hydrothermal method. Then the AgCl NCs were exposed to 633 nm laser and Ag NPs appeared on their surface. The morphology of exposed samples after irradiation was characterized by using field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM).Meanwhile,p-aminothiophenol(PATP)was used to study the SERS sensitivity of Ag@AgCl samples. It was found that both the amount and size of Ag NPs increased with the elevation of laser power or exposure time, which enhanced the sensitivity of obtained SERS substrates. Thus, the results might provide a simple method for the fabrication of SERS substrates.
