Wear and corrosion properties of WC-10%CoCrFeNi cemented carbide
To solve the conflict between the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of WC-Ni cemented carbide,WC-10%CoCrFeNi cemented carbide was prepared using CoCrFeNi high-entropy alloy as the bonding phase.A comparative study of the wear and corrosion properties of WC-10%CoCrFeNi and WC-10%Ni cemented carbides was carried out with the aid of Vickers hardness tester, friction and wear tester, electrochemical workstation, scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffractometer. The results show that WC-10%CoCrFeNi has higher hardness and fracture toughness values than those of WC-10%Ni cemented carbides, and has lower friction coefficient and wear rate during dry friction sliding wear, and shows excellent corrosion resistance during electrochemical corrosion with 3.5%NaCl solution as the medium.
