Effects of Biochar on the Growth of Celery Seedlings and Physicochemical Properties of the Substrate
In order to reduce the waste of resources and environmental pollution caused by excessive application of chemical fertilizers, improve the efficiency of fertilizer utilization, screen out suitable substrate ratios for local celery seedlings,in this experiment, the effects of five different dosages of corn stover biochar on the growth of celery seedlings and the physicochemical properties of the substrate were tested in accordance with the local climatic conditions. The results showed that the plant height, stem thickness, dry weight per plant, and seedling index of celery planted with T3(corn stover:charcoal:perlite=8:82:10)were significantly higher than those of the control and other treatments. The total porosity of T3 was 73.05%,and the water-air ratio was higher than that of the other treatments, which indicated that the addition of an appropriate amount of corn stover biochar had a promoting effect on the growth of celery seedlings, and thus provided a theoretical basis for local celery efficient and high quality seedling nursery to provide reference.
