Selectivity of Frankliniella occidentalisto Different Organs of Vegetables
In order to study the selectivity of Frankliniella occidentalis on different host vegetables and their organs,further clarify the relationship between F.occidentalis and hosts,elucidate the selection mechanism of this insect on host plants,and develop effective attractants or repellents,this study analyzed the population numberf of F.occidentalis on different host vegetables and different organs of vegetables.The results showed that F.occidentalis preferred to the flower organs of host vegetables,with the majority in the middle and upper parts,followed by leaves,stems,and relatively fewer in fruits.On the flower organs of different host vegetables,the order of the number of F.occidentalis from most to least was eggplant,zucchini,cucumber,pepper,tomato,and melon.
