Effects of Prohexadione-calcium on Growth and Fruit Quality of Winter Jujube
In order to investigate the effect of prohexadione-calcium on the growth and fruit quality of winter jujube,3-year-old winter jujube was used as the test material.During the sprouting of branches, different concentrations of prohexadione-calcium wettable powder were sprayed twice on the leaf surface at intervals of 10 days, with concentrations of 300,500,700,900 and 1 100 times,respectively.Meanwhile,500 times liquid of imidazole wettable powder and water were sprayed simultaneously as controls. At the end of May,the number, length, roughness, leaf length and width,SPAD value and other indicators of new shoots and branches of plants were observed and planted.Quality indicators such as fruit hardness, soluble solid content, and titratable acid content were measured after fruit coloring. The results showed that foliar spraying of prohexadione-calcium could effectively inhibit the number of new shoots sprouting on the lateral branches of winter jujube, with 500 fold solution having the most significant inhibitory effect on the number of new shoots sprouting on the lateral branches. The inhibitory effects of spraying 500 fold and 700 fold prohexadione-calcium solution on the length, roughness, and number of internodes of new shoots are significant.Spraying 500 times prohexadione-calcium solution significantly increased the single fruit weight and soluble solid content of winter jujube fruit. Therefore,in combination with the actual production of local winter jujube, spraying 700 to 900 times prohexadione-calcium solution on the leaves during the early sprouting stage of new shoots, and spraying again every 10 days, could control nutrient growth, improve fruit quality, and increase the economic benefits of fruit farmers.
