Effects of Fertilizer Reduction Combined with Organic Fertilizer on Yield and Quality of Muskmelon
To study the impact of reducing chemical fertilizers and applying organic fertilizers on the production of sweet muskmelon, and to achieve cost saving and efficiency improvement, this study set up four treatments:conventional fertilization(CK),optimized fertilization(T1),organic fertilizer substitution and reduction of 10%fertilizer application(T2),and organic fertilizer substitution and reduction of 20%fertilizer application(T3).The fertilizer application was reduced in different proportions and combined with organic fertilizer.By measuring the indicators of plant stem diameter, root dry and fresh mass, vine dry and fresh mass, soluble total sugar in different treatments, the effects of fertilization methods on quality and yield were analyzed. The results showed that reducing the amount of chemical fertilizers and applying organic fertilizers appropriately promoted plant growth, increased melon yield, improve melon quality, and enhanced product efficiency.Compared with conventional fertilization,T2 treatment increased dry matter mass, vitamin C content, soluble sugar content, and yield by 1.25%,16.82%,41.28%,and 10.86%,respectively,with the most significant effect of increasing yield and improving quality. In summary, reducing 10%chemical fertilizers and applying organic fertilizers could increase the yield and improve the quality of sweet melons. It was recommended promoting the reduction of chemical fertilizers and the application of organic fertilizers,to improve economic and ecological benefits.
