Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of laparoscopic operation on colon cancer and its effects on matrix metalloproteinase-11(MMP-11),transcription factor Sp1 and tissue inhibitor of metallo-proteinase-1(TIMP-1).Methods A total of 86 patients with colon cancer admitted to our hospital from 2020 to 2022 were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 43 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were treated with conventional operation, and patients in the observation group were treated with laparoscopic operation. The condition during operation,therapeu-tic effect, positive rate of MMP-11,transcription factor Sp1,TIMP-1 and quality of life(QOL)score of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the operation time and the first postoperative ex-haust time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group(P<0.05),and the intr-aoperative blood loss of the observation group was less than that of the control group(P<0.05).The to-tal effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The positive rates of MMP-11,Sp1 and TIMP-1 in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).In terms of QOL score, there was no significant difference be-tween the two groups before treatment(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of physical status,behav-ior,self-rated QOL and intestinal function in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Laparoscopic operation is effective in the treatment of colon cancer, which can not only shorten the operation time and reduce the amount of intraoperative blood loss, but also improve the daily physical and mental health and QOL of patients, and promote the physical reha-bilitation of patients, which is worthy of clinical application.
