Objective To observe the effect of Chinese medicinal retention enema combined with abdomi-nal massage on postpartum constipation.Methods Total 78 patients with postpartum constipation ad-mitted to our hospital from January to December 2023 were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 39 cases in each group.The control group was treated with disposable medical intestinal clearer enema combined with abdominal massage,while the observation group was treated with Chinese medicinal retention enema combined with abdominal massage.Symptom relief time,defecation recovery time,constipation symptom scores and comfort scores of the 2nd,4th and 6th days were compared between the two groups.Results Symptom relief time and defecation recovery time in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Before treatment,there was no sig-nificant difference in constipation symptom scores between the two groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,constipation symptom scores of the two groups were lower than before treatment,which were lower in the observation group than in the control group(P＜0.05).The comfort scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group on the 2nd,4th and 6th days(P＜0.05).Conclusion Chinese medicinal retention enema combined with abdominal massage is effective for postpartum constipation,which can effectively relieve the symptoms of constipation and improve the comfort of patients.
