Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of wrist and ankle acupuncture therapy in relieving postoperative pain of hemorrhoids. Methods From October 2022 to March 2023,total 80 patients with hemorrhoids undergoing surgical treatment in our hospital were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 40 cases in each group. The two groups were treated with Milligan-Morgan hemor-rhoidectomy(MMH)for mixed hemorrhoids. The control group was given postoperative analgesia pump, while the observation group was combined with wrist and ankle acupuncture therapy on the basis of the control group.Postoperative pain, analgesic use, postoperative complications and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The pain VAS scores of the observation group at 6 h,24 h,48 h,72 h,5 d and 7 d after operation were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The utiliza-tion rate of analgesic drugs of the observation group on the 7th day after operation was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).The satisfaction score of patients of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative hemorrhage, edema and dysuria of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The analgesic effect of wrist and ankle acupuncture for postoperative pain in mixed hemorrhoids is significant.Patient satisfaction is high, and postoperative complications are less, which is worth clinical promotion and applica-tion.
