Diagnostic Value of MRI in Staging and Differentiation of Colorectal Cancer
Objective To analyze the diagnostic value of magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)in the stag-ing and differentiation of colorectal cancer. Methods Total 80 patients with colorectal cancer admitted to our hospital from April 2021 to June 2022 were selected as study participants.Pathological examination was taken as the gold standard and MRI was used to examine patients with colorectal cancer.MRI was used to evaluate the staging, detect the degree of tumor differentiation, and analyze the efficacy of MRI in diag-nosing the staging and differentiation of colorectal cancer patients. Results Among 80 patients with colorectal cancer,29 were highly differentiated,37 were moderately differentiated, and 14 were poorly dif-ferentiated.There were 6 cases of T1 stage,27 cases of T2 stage,38 cases of T3 stage and 9 cases of T4 stage. There were 41 cases of stage N0,30 cases of stage N1 and 9 cases of stage N2.MRI was used to de-tect 8 cases of stage T1,29 cases of stage T2,33 cases of stage T3 and 10 cases of stage T4,with an accu-racy rate of 83.75%.There were 40 cases of stage N0,31 cases of stage N1 and 9 cases of stage N2,with an accuracy of 93.75%.MRI showed that 30 cases were highly differentiated,37 cases were moderately dif-ferentiated and 13 cases were poorly differentiated, with an accuracy of 90.00%.The sensitivity and speci-ficity of MRI in evaluating T staging of colorectal cancer patients were 85.10%and 81.82%,86.96%of positive predictive value,79.41%of negative predictive value,83.75%of accuracy, and 0.754 of Kappa value. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, accuracy and Kappa value in evaluating N staging of colorectal cancer patients were 92.31%,95.12%,94.74%,92.86%,93.75%,and 0.893 respectively. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, accuracy and Kappa value for evaluating the differentiation degree of colorectal tumors were 93.10%,88.24%,81.82%,95.74%,90.00%and 0.839,respectively,which were in good agreement with the gold standard results. Conclusion MRI has high diagnostic value in the staging and differentiation of colorectal cancer.
