Effect of Electromyographic Biofeedback Combined with Kegel Exercise on Pelvic Function and Defecation Ca-pacity after Low Rectal Cancer Operation
Objective To investigate the effect of electromyographic biofeedback(EMGBF)combined with Kegel exercise on pelvic function and defecation capacity in patients with low rectal cancer after opera-tion.Methods A total of 95 patients with postoperative bowel incontinence from April 2022 to June 2023 were divided into control group(47 cases)and observation group(48 cases). The control group re-ceived Kegel exercise and routine pelvic floor muscle training, while the observation group received EMGBF training on the basis of the control group.Pelvic floor muscle function, anorectal pressure, scores of bowel incontinence and quality of life(QOL)were compared between the two groups. Results Before treat-ment,there was no significant difference in pelvic floor muscle function between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the pelvic floor muscle strength and EMG values in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the pelvic floor dysfunction questionnaire(PFDI20)was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in ano-rectal pressure between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the anal resting pressure(RP),squeeze pressure(SP)and maximum tolerable volume(MTV)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the rectal defecation sensation volume(FP)was lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant differ-ence in the Cleveland score(CCF-FIS)between the two groups(P>0.05),and after treatment, the CCF-FIS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Before treat-ment,there was no significant difference in QOL score between the two groups(P>0.05).After treat-ment,the symptom dimension score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the functional dimension score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion EMGBF combined with Kegel exercise can improve the pelvic muscle strength and promote the recovery of anal function in patients with low rectal cancer after operation.
