Relationship Between Intestinal Flora Imbalance and Serum Levels of Procalcitonin and Immunoglobulin in Patients with Colorectal Cancer
Objective To investigate the correlation between intestinal flora imbalance and serum levels of procalcitonin(PCT)and immunoglobulin in patients with colorectal cancer.Methods Total 61 pa-tients with colorectal cancer admitted to our hospital from January 2023 to February 2024 were divided ac-cording to whether they had intestinal flora imbalance.Among them,38 patients without intestinal flora imbalance were selected as the control group,while 23 patients with intestinal flora imbalance were selected as the observation group.The serum levels of PCT,IgA,IgG and IgM were compared between the obser-vation group and the control group,as well as the patients with different degrees of intestinal flora imbal-ance,and the correlation between each index and intestinal flora imbalance was analyzed.Results The serum level of PCT in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group,and the levels of IgA,IgG and IgM were significantly lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The serum level of PCT in patients with degree Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ of intestinal flora imbalance was increased succes-sively,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The serum lev-els of IgA,IgG and IgM in patients with degree Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ of intestinal flora imbalance were decreased successively,and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The number of enterococcus in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the num-ber of Bifidobacterium,Lactobacillus and Eubacteria in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).The degree of intestinal flora imbalance in colorectal cancer patients was posi-tively correlated with the serum level of PCT,and negatively correlated with the serum levels of IgA,IgG and IgM(P＜0.05).Conclusion In colorectal cancer patients with intestinal flora imbalance,serum level of PCT is significantly increased,IgA,IgG,IgM levels are significantly decreased,and their expres-sion levels are significantly correlated with the degree of intestinal flora imbalance.
