Accuracy Analysis of CT Combined with MRI in Preoperative Staging Diagnosis of Rectal Cancer
Objective To investigate the accuracy of CT combined with MRI in preoperative staging diag-nosis of rectal cancer. Methods Total 50 patients with rectal cancer admitted to our hospital from Janu-ary 2021 to December 2022 were selected to be examined by CT and MRI in sequence to compare the accu-racy of separate diagnosis of CT or MRI and combined diagnosis of rectal cancer, with the pathological bi-opsy results as the gold standard. Results Pathological examination showed that among the 50 patients, there were 2 benign tumors(negative)and 48 malignant tumors(positive),all of which were rectal adeno-carcinoma.Compared with separate examination of CT or MRI,the accuracy and sensitivity of CT com-bined with MRI were higher(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in specificity(P>0.05).Among 48 patients with rectal cancer, there were 26 cases of stage T1~2,15 cases of stage T3,and 7 cases of stage T4.The accuracy of preoperative T staging diagnosis of rectal cancer by CT,MRI and CT combined with MRI was 75.00%(36/48),79.17%(38/48),and 97.92%(47/48),respectively.The diag-nostic accuracy of CT combined with MRI was higher than that of separate CT or MRI(P<0.05).There were 22 cases of stage N0,18 cases of stage N1,and 8 cases of stage N2.The accuracy of preoperative N staging diagnosis by CT,MRI and CT combined with MRI was 79.17%(38/48),83.33%(40/48),and 97.92%(47/48),respectively.The diagnostic accuracy of CT combined with MRI was higher than that of separate CT or MRI(P<0.05).Conclusion CT combined with MRI is more accurate in the diagnosis of rectal cancer and the preoperative staging diagnosis, which can be used to guide clinical treatment.
