Clinical Effect of Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus Triple Viable Tablets Combined with Water-Soluble Dietary Fiber in Prevention of Senile Antibiotic-Related Diarrhea
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of bifidobacterium and lactobacillus triple viable tablets combined with water-soluble dietary fiber in the prevention of senile antibiotic-related diarrhea. Methods Total 70 senile patients who received antibiotics in our hospital from March 2023 to February 2024 were randomly assigned to experimental group and control group according to 1:1,with 35 cases in each group. The experimental group was treated with bifidobacteria and lactobacillus triple viable tablets combined with water-soluble dietary fiber, and the control group was given maltodextrin to be compared. The incidence of antibiotic-associated diarrhea, the course of diarrhea, the results of fecal culture and the in-cidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of antibiotic-associated diarrhea in the experimental group(8.57%)was significantly lower than that in the control group(34.29%).The duration of diarrhea[(3.12+0.45)d]was shorter than that in the control group[(5.35+0.35)d],and the incidence of adverse reactions(8.57%)was significantly lower than that in the control group(34.29%)(P<0.05).On the 3rd,7th and 14th day of intervention, the counts of intestinal bifidobacterium and lactobacillus in the experimental group gradually increased(P<0.05).Conclusion Bifidobacterium and lactobacillus triple viable tablets combined with water-soluble dietary fiber is effec-tive in preventing senile antibiotic-related diarrhea, which can not only reduce the incidence of diarrhea, shorten the course of diarrhea, decrease adverse reactions, but also regulate intestinal flora.
