Water wall is an important component of power plant boiler, its stress state is very complicated and inconstant due to the effects of the structural discontinuity and fluctuating operating conditions, which may cause stress failures of the water wall. The analysis of the stress state of the water wall depends on mechanical properties of the water wall structure. In this paper, mechanical properties of the water wall structure are studied by experiments and simulations. The stress-strain relationship on the tube's outer wall under the axial tensile force and the strain-temperature relationship on the tube's outer wall under thermal expansion are established. The effects of internal threads on the strain and stress on the tube's inter wall are revealed. The stress concentration coefficient at the root of thread is calculated. The effects of the temperature on mechanical properties of the water wall are analyzed. The results of this paper are very important to the structural stress analysis of the water wall and the measurement and calculation of the strain, stress and thermal expansion.
