Taking an accident caused by the breakage of hoisting wire rope in the process of elevator installation as an example,through site investigation,force analysis of hoisting wire rope,fracture failure analysis and elevator installation process analysis,it was found out that the direct cause of the accident was that the elevator installation operators violated the installation process of the elevator manufacturer.The overload fracture of the steel wire rope hanging the car was caused by the force applied when the chain block was used for lifting operation in the car and on top of the car.Based on this,the corresponding preventive measures are proposed from the aspects of elevator installation and use management.
