Welding joints in pressure pipelines were high-risk areas for defects. This article used the finite element method and relevant standard requirements to regularize unfused defects, and used the"ellipsoid"model to simulate the stress at the pressure pipeline and its defects. The results indicated that for unfused defects, the maximum stress usually occurred on the outer surface of the pipeline near the defect. The height of the defect had a significant impact on the stress concentration phenomenon at the defect location, the curvature radius of the defect edge also had an impact on stress concentration. And due to the particularity of the bend structure,it obtained a more realistic stress distribution of pressure pipelines to consider the angle θ between defects.
