In order to prevent and resolve the risk of installing elevators, the paper focuses on the stages of project initiation, design planning, construction organization, operation and maintenance, and deeply discusses the risk inducements at each stage.Through on-site visits and expert interviews,a risk assessment index system was constructed, and the analytic hierarchy process was used to assess the risks of the whole process from the start to the operation of the elevator installation project. The results show that the smooth start of the project is mainly determined by economic factors.On-site investigation plays a decisive role in the quality of construction and the safety of use.The risks of construction organization and operation and maintenance need to be managed by multiple actors. Finally, some countermeasures and suggestions are put forward, such as optimizing the subsidy policy, building a smart platform, formulating technical standards, and encouraging scientific research.
