Research progress on the mechanical properties of triply periodic minimal surface bone scaffolds
The prevalence of bone defects has surged, posing a great challenge to clinical repair strategies. The application of traditional autologous bone transplantation is limited by the risk of postoperative infections. In recent years, bone scaffolds have garnered considerable attention as a research hotspot for addressing the challenges of bone defect repair.Triply periodic minimal surface(TPMS)bone scaffolds have become the preferred choice due to their distinctive architecture and excellent mechanical properties. This article reviews the research progress on the key mechanical properties of TPMS bone scaffolds, such as the elastic modulus, anisotropy, wall shear stress, energy absorption, and yield strength.
