Risk factors for pain catastrophizing in patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head
Objective:To analyze the risk factors for pain catastrophizing in patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head(ONFH).Methods:This study included 210 patients with ONFH treated at the Luoyang Orthopedic Hospital of Henan Province(Henan Provincial Orthopedic Hospital)between July and December 2023.Demographic data were collected, and the Harris hip score was recorded.Psychological assessments were conducted via the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item(GAD-7)scale,the Patient Health Questionnaire-9(PHQ-9),and the Pain Catastrophizing Scale(PCS).The prevalence of pain catastrophizing among ONFH patients was determined.Univariate and multivariate linear regression analyses were performed to identify risk factors for pain catastrophizing in ONFH patients. Results:The prevalence of pain catastrophizing in ONFH patients was 29.0%(61/210).Univariate and multivariate linear regression analyses revealed that being female, living alone,ARCO stages Ⅲ and Ⅳ,lower Harris hip pain scores, higher GAD-7 scores, and higher PHQ-9 scores were independent risk factors for pain catastrophizing in ONFH patients. Conclusions:ONFH patients are prone to pain catastrophizing, with significant risk factors being female, living alone,ARCO stages Ⅲ and Ⅳ,hip pain, anxiety, and depression.
