Osteoporosis is a degenerative skeletal disease characterized by decreased bone strength and increased risk of fractures.It has become a significant health issue in the population aged 50 and above in China.Ferroptosis is a regulated cell death mechanism characterized by iron ion dependency and accompanied by the accumulation of lipid peroxides.Currently,with the in-depth research on the pathogenesis of osteoporosis,inhibiting ferroptosis in osteogenic differentiation has been identified as an important target for the treatment of osteoporosis.Therefore,this article aims to provide a comprehensive review of the latest research on ferroptosis in osteogenic differentiation within the pathogenesis of osteoporosis,in order to offer new insights and perspectives for the treatment of osteoporosis.
