NADPH Oxidase(NOXs)is an enzyme that produces superoxide and plays an important role in organism defense, biosynthesis pathway and cell signal transduction.NOXs,as a major source of reactive oxygen species(ROS),has become a popular target for anti-oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and tumors.Literature suggests that NOXs and their related REDOX reactions are closely related to osteoclasts and osteoblasts, driving membrane-associated reactive oxygen species(ROS)and initiating iron death, affecting bone formation and bone resorption. This paper aims to review the effects of NOXs on ROS and iron death in bone homeostasis and provide references for the treatment of bone metabolism related diseases with NOXs.
