Chemerin is a newly discovered adipokine that binds to its high-affinity receptor ChemR23 and participates extensively in the regulation of various physiological processes.Studies have confirmed that the Chemerin/ChemR23 signaling pathway is highly relevant to bone metabolism regulation. It mainly regulates bone metabolism by modulating key signaling pathways including MAPK,PI3K/Akt,Wnt/β-catenin,NF-kB,and regulating testosterone synthesis. This article reviews the research progress on the Chemerin/ChemR23 signaling pathway in bone metabolism regulation and its correlation with osteoporosis,to improve the clinical understanding of the relevance between Chemerin/ChemR23 signaling pathway and bone metabolic diseases.
