Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by joint inflammation,progressive cartilage destruction and bone erosion.Recent studies have shown that ferroptosis is involved in the progression of autoimmune diseases such as autoimmune hepatitis and rheumatoid arthritis.In this review,we focus on the mechanism of ferroptosis and its association with the pathogenesis of RA,and explore the new theoretical basis and potential therapeutic method of targeted ferroptosis for the treatment of RA patients.
