Osteoporosis is a skeletal metabolic disease characterized by imbalanced osteogenesis and osteoclast homeostasis,as well as weakened bone matrix mineralization ability.The number of affected individuals is increasing year by year.CRISPR/Cas9 technology can perform genetic modification at the cellular and animal levels,bringing convenience to research in osteoporosis.This article reviews the application of CRISPR/Cas9 technology in influencing the functions of osteoblasts,osteoclasts,and macrophages,as well as mediating the Wnt,RANKL,and BMP signaling pathways in osteoporosis pathogenesis research,providing literature support for related studies.
