Solidification/stabilization of heavy metals in solid waste concrete prepared by silicon-based nano-gel and smelting slag was studied by leaching experiment. The migration mechanism and safety of heavy metals were further explored The results show that the leaching concentration of heavy metals is far lower than the prescribed upper limit value and the locking rate is above 93.5%.The durability is far superior than the ordinary concrete.Therefore,silicon-based nano-gel can be a reliable material for locking harmful elements.
