Innovative Practice of Demonstration Engineering Technology and Management in High Altitude Areas—Taking the Treatment of Well 7 in Muli,Qinghai as an Example
Located at the source of the Datong River,an important tributary of the Yellow River, the No.7 well in Muli,Qinghai Province,is an important component of the water source conservation area and ecological security barrier in the Qilian Mountains region. Its ecological status is extremely important. At the same time, the mining area is located in a typical ecologically fragile zone on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, with large areas of frozen soil and wetland vegetation such as alpine meadows distributed in the area, making the regional ecology sensitive and fragile.Due to long-term coal mining activities, the ecological environment has been severely damaged and difficult to restore. The demonstration project successfully solved the instability of the mine slope through innovative technology and advanced management methods, restored the damaged plateau wetlands and meadows, protected soil erosion, contained the risk of continued collapse of the mine, prevented further deterioration of the permafrost layer, and prevented freeze-thaw erosion. It achieved the natural succession of pioneer vegetation and native vegetation, coordinated landscape management with surrounding natural landscapes, and maximized the restoration of the mining area ecosystem.
