Determination of Ferrite Content in Austenitic Stainless-Steel Welds
Stainless steel usually refers to high alloy steel with good chemical stability in the atmosphere, water, acid, alkali and salt solutions or other corrosive media. The fundamental reason for the good corrosion resistance of stainless steel is that chromium, nickel, molybdenum, titanium and other alloying elements are added to the iron-carbon alloy.Stainless steel according to the different metallography structure,is divided into ferritic stainless steel, martensitic stainless steel, austenitic stainless steel, austenitic ferrite duplex stainless steel and precipitation hardening stainless steel, etc. In recent years, and the development of high purity ferritic stainless steel,ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel and other new steel.More and more attention has been paid to the determination of ferrite content in austenitic stainless-steel welds. There are also many test methods for ferrite content, including magnetic method, metallographic method, chemical calculation method.
