Study on the Revised Tolerance Values of Benthic Macroinvertebrate Taxa in Liaoning Province
The water quality physical and chemical monitoring data and the quantitative monitoring data of benthic macroinvertebrate from 47 sites in Liaoning Province from 2011 to 2021 were collected and collated. There were 27 368 water quality physical and chemical monitoring data, and 3180 benthic macroinvertebrate quantitative monitoring data from 632 samples. In total,4 phyla,9 classes,23 orders,85 families,188 genera,297 species of benthic macroinvertebrate were detected. There were 226 species of aquatic insects, accounting for 76.1%of the total species.Mollusks, annelids and crustaceans accounted for 12.5%,7.1%and 4.0%,respectively.There was only one species of platyhelminth, accounting for 0.3%.The tolerance values of 273 benthic macroinvertebrate taxa from 85 families and 188 genera were revised by cumulative percentile method, direct reference method and expert experience method.Among them,135 were obtained by calculation,100 were directly referenced from other areas, and 38 were determined according to expert experience. The discriminant ability analysis of this study and previous studies about tolerance values of benthic macroinvertebrate taxa in Liaoning Province was carried out by BI boxplot of reference sites and damaged sites. The results showed that the tolerance values determined by the calculation method could better reflect the different environmental gradients, and its adaptability was better than that determined by the expert experience method only.
