Current Status and Application Prospect of Drug Monitoring in Atmospheric Environment
The issue of illicit drug use is becoming increasingly severe worldwide, and traditional drug monitoring methods have proven increasingly inadequate to meet the needs of drug control efforts. In order to monitor the drug situation more quickly and comprehensively, some European countries have started monitoring drugs in the atmosphere. This article systematically reviews the technical principles, sample collection, pretreatment and detection methods used in atmospheric drug monitoring.Recent research indicates that atmospheric drugs primarily exist in airborne particles.Sampling is conducted using high-volume or medium-volume particle samplers.Common extraction techniques include Soxhlet extraction,ultrasound-assisted extraction, and pressurized extraction.Various detection methods often involve gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. This article also introduces the current research status regarding the detection of commonly found drugs in the atmospheric environment. The concentration of drugs in the atmospheric environment depends on factors such as the quantity of drug abuse, population density, and climatic conditions.Given these data, this article proposes the application of atmospheric drug monitoring in China, providing a novel approach to drug monitoring technologies.
