Spatial Distribution Characteristics and Potential Risks of Heavy Metal Pollution in Soils of 33 Cities of China
The content of heavy metals(As,Co,Cr,Cu,Mn,Ni,Pb,Zn,Cd,Hg)in topsoil, urbanization index(GDP,resident population, vehicle ownership)and atmospheric environment monitoring index(AQI,PM2.5,PM10,SO2,NO2,CO and O3)in 33 cities of China were collected and sorted out,and the spatial distribution characteristics and potential risks of soil heavy metal pollution in provincial capital cities were studied in this paper. The results showed that the average content of heavy metals As,Co,Cr,Cu,Mn,Ni,Pb,Zn,Cd and Hg in the soils of provincial capital cities were 1.12,1.75,1.21,1.69,1.16,1.13,1.75,1.66,4.18 and 2.87 times of the background values of Chinese soil elements, respectively. The order of Igeo mean value of soil heavy metal cumulative pollution index was:Cd(1.48)>Hg(0.93)>Pb(0.23)>Co(0.22)>Cu(0.17)>Zn(0.14)>Cr(-0.31)>Mn(-0.37)>Ni(-0.41)>As(-0.42).The nemero pollution index values in the 8 socio-economic regions of China were:Southwest China(7.07)>Middle reaches of the Yangtze River(6.84)>Northern coastal area(6.81)>Eastern coastal area(4.09)>Southern coastal area(3.82)>Northeast China(3.12)>Middle reaches of the Yellow River(2.76)>Great Northwest China(3.73).The order of potential ecological risk coefficient of different heavy metals was Cd>Hg>As>Pb>Co>Cu>Ni>Cr>Mn>Zn,and the average value of potential ecological risk index was 665.15 respectively. The correlation among Cu,Mn,Pb and Zn in urban soil was good, but there was no significant correlation with urbanization index and atmospheric environment monitoring index.
