Effects of Virtual Reality mindfulness training on negative emotion management and fatigue in patients with ovarian cancer during chemotherapy
Objective:To explore the effects of Virtual Reality mindfulness training on negative emotion and fatigue of ovarian cancer patients during chemotherapy,in order to improve the level of negative emotional management and reduce fatigue in ovarian cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.Methods:A mindfulness training software was designed and developed through Virtual Reality technology.Using convenience sampling method,25 patients with ovarian cancer undergoing chemotherapy who were hospitalized in a tertiary hospital in Beijing from August 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the research subjects.A one week mindfulness training based on Virtual Reality technology was conducted to evaluate the acceptance of mindfulness training using Virtual Reality technology.The anxiety,depression,and fatigue of patients before and after the intervention were compared.Results:The Virtual Reality mindfulness training involved four functional modules:personalized courses,intelligent monitoring,emotion tracking and interesting games.The acceptance score of the training program was high(164.68±9.28).After training,the scores of anxiety,depression and cancer-related fatigue in ovarian cancer patients during chemotherapy has decreased.Conclusion:The Virtual Reality mindfulness training is highly acceptable in ovarian cancer patients at the stage of chemotherapy.The training application can reduce the negative emotion and fatigue degree of ovarian cancer patients at the stage of chemotherapy,and it is worth of further promotion.
